The point of this department is to recognise and correct faults and bugs in the software design by making the necessary changes before it is used by the client or public. It is therefore vital that any employee within this role has knowledge of IT bugs and can use their skills acquired by their experience and education to solve such issues.
Testers will work from the direction of their Test Managers to carry out several tasks allocated to them. The Tester will have to understand the requirements of the project. They will prepare and carry out test case documentation of applications from numerous aspects. In some cases, they will be required to implement the build for the required set-up. They will conduct regular checks and once complete, will update corresponding documentation. They will attend or conduct regular client calls to solve queries or report on progress. Sometimes, more senior testers will be required to train newer members of the team. A tester is a vital part of any organisation, and their diligence and knowledge of bugs are fundamental skill-sets each tester must possess.
