Test Consultant Jobs

A Test Consultant plays an important role in the development of new IT programs. Once a project reaches a certain level of development, the consultant needs to ensure it works exactly as it should. The creation of test plans and estimates can quite often be found in Test Consultant job roles.

Once it is understood how the program is supposed to work, thorough testing will take place, including unit testing, system testing, user interface testing and acceptance testing. Some of this testing will be manual, while other jobs may require automated testing to be conducted. These results will then need to be analysed to identify any remaining weaknesses and bugs in the project, which can then be patched and corrected.

Due to this being a technical role, an understanding of different coding languages such as C# and SQL, as well as programming languages like PHP, .NET or Java is needed. Those in senior positions within Test Consultancy may also need to manage other members of a team, to ensure the project runs as smoothly as possible.
