A Programme Director oversees the planning, developing and application of one or more of the services within the organisation.
As a client-facing representative, the Programme Director will nurture client relationships and act as a single point of contact between the Programme Managers and the client to ensure the smooth-running of the programme, from conception to application. As such, the role of Programme Director can be one of the most rewarded programmer jobs available within an organisation. The Programme Director will liaise with Programme Managers and delivery teams regarding their clients’ expectations and feedback and will devise any changes and solutions along with the Programme Manager, to guarantee success. Programme Directors will implement a project management framework to ensure all work is completed on time and to specification.
Programme Directors must have a substantial knowledge of business planning and understanding of the programme to ensure that they are providing the correct advice to both the client and the programming team. They must be able to apply quality and risk assessments to the projects to ensure KPI’s are met. They are fantastic communicators that are able to network, negotiate and influence clients and stakeholder to ensure the success of the programme.
