IT Audit Managers are responsible for the internal controls and risks of a company’s technology network. This role includes identifying any weaknesses in a network and creating an action plan to prevent security breaches, as well as ensuring that IT audit practices comply with company procedures and government regulations.
An IT Audit Manager can also be involved in the planning and execution of internal audit procedures, which may include the creation of internal reports. They must work within a team to create a solid IT infrastructure and co-operate with clients to devise and employ procedures and policies regarding network security issues.
IT Audit Managers typically have a bachelor degree in IT, information systems, accounting or business administration. They are required to have strong communication skills and must be able to not only understand technical jargon but to translate this into business-related decisions for clients and management.
Patience and the ability to teach is also a plus, as much of the information is learned on the job and requires imparting knowledge to others in the company work environment.
