A Field Service Engineer will maintain and service IT systems and highlight opportunities to improve the function of the system, depending on the user’s needs. It will be the responsibility of the Field Service Engineer to create detailed reports of the tasks carried out and recommendations advised, which should include the problems, actions and equipment that were required. Field Service Engineers are articulate and possess a comprehensive technical vocabulary that can be communicated both written and verbally. The role requires problem analysis skills, high levels of customer service and self-motivation. Field Service Engineers will need to be adaptable to the workplace as the role requires regular travel to client’s business premises, working remotely or providing guidance over the phone.
