A Development Manager has several responsibilities, and the primary one is to provide an exceptional product or service to a client or the public. The objective of this role is to assist and manage the development team as efficiently as possible by making sure they have clear goals, both in the short and long-term.
From the initial project scope to deploying the product or service out to customer sites, each step will fall under the Development Managers responsibilities. Development Manager jobs include assigning Developers to projects in response to requests from Project Managers. The Development Manager works closely with the Project Manager to ensure that the projects are completed to specification and budget. They also spend time working with the organisation on planning and preparing for new projects. They’re always making small changes in the current plans to provide a better product, develop a better skill set in the group, or preparing the development team for the project.
The Development Manager evaluates and assesses the impact of potential changes in the market, and continually evaluates ways to improve the skill sets within the organisation.
