A Business Systems Analyst works with businesses to understand their needs in fields related to IT. By utilising their knowledge of the organisation’s technology infrastructure and specific software applications, they can help the business advance through updated technologies.
Business Systems Analysts will work towards understanding the overall business needs, before creating a business case and defining the requirements via a number of approaches. BSA’s will solve a wide variety of business problems, including the model, process or method. They are required to analyse, transform and ultimately resolve these issues with the help of technology, and recommend appropriate system controls and protocols.
Ideal candidates will be confident in software design, documentation, development and requirements and be competent at analysing information. The role requires you to bridge the gap between business and the IT department, meaning the ability to establish and maintain appropriate working relationships with all levels of a company is of paramount importance.
Within Business Analysis jobs, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are desired, as is a logistical approach to problem-solving.
