Essentially, Business Analysts will develop and update computer systems for businesses to ensure they have the best possible option for their needs. Business analyst jobs usually involve being a point of reference throughout the adjustment process and supporting the business in how they can make effective use of their new system for a period following instalment.

The business analyst role is often described as a communication bridge between IT and the business stakeholders, and as such, demands great verbal and written communicators. Other beneficial skills to succeed within this role includes being tactfully diplomatic, a confident problem solver and experienced analysers. They will need to engage with stakeholders effectively to understand and respond to the needs of the company, in what is often rapidly changing business environments. An IT background is helpful, but not required, and having a vast knowledge of the business domain is equally as beneficial.
