Business Analysts will capture, analyse and document the business requirements, whilst supporting the communication and delivery of said requirements with relevant stakeholders. Business Analysts are responsible for identifying the need for a change, requiring an in-depth understanding of how businesses operate and support the business throughout the implementation process. They deliver practical solutions which provide tangible business benefits, often within short timescales.

To succeed within Business Analyst jobs, you must excel in both written and verbal communication. Successful candidates will need to have an acute understanding of business acumen and be prepared to solve complex problems head-on, as well as dealing with time limitations and the demands of business stakeholders. The role can often involve challenging questioning from very senior stakeholders to ensure that value for money is achieved from IT developments. A background in IT is not necessarily required, although it can help to have a basic understanding of how IT systems work.
